International Forum of Mechatronics 2010

About 150 experts participated in the 6th International Forum of Mechatronics 2010 at Winterthur (Switzerland), hosted by IMS (Institute of Mechatronic Systems, ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences) in order to exchange expertise and scientific facts about mechatronic systems.

The program offered 40 high-profile speakers representing renowed universities, companies and organizations from 3 countries. The keynote-speeches  led to a variety in presentations of mechatronical implementation and concepts for the future. The agenda emphasized on medical engineering, robotics, industrial engineering, sensor technology, actuating elements, human-robot collaboration and development of humanoid robotics.

The tenor of the dialog board implied one essential mission-statement for the development of key-technologies and success in the vital branch of mechatronics: the efficient implementation of research-results on the market.

On the second day of the two-day conference, the attendees had the possibility to ask questions in a round table about funding of projects and discussed different knowledge- and technologytransfer-models. In a relaxed atmosphere, the participants from all the different institutions had the chance to get in touch and to do some social networking. A discussion with the topic mechatronics as a doctrine and an exhibition by 15 companies completed the programme.

In 2011, the city of Cham (Germany) represents the 7th International Forum of Mechatronics (more details coming soon). The Institute for Mechatronic Systems with its German and Austrian cooperation-partners continues to compose an exclusive event.
