The former Network Environmental Technology was transformed into the Environmental Technology Cluster by November 15th, 2009.

About 100 companies in Upper Austria are involved in environmental technology. Since 2005, the Network Environmental Technology is platform for suppliers, know-how-carriers and technology-users in the fields of water, waste, air, noise and soil. The network serves as a platform for companies in the environmental technology industry. It assists in developing product and process innovations, and supports businesses when entering international markets.

The network environmental technology includes technology supliers, technology-users, education and research facilities. All partners are being brought together and linked through information exchange, events and projects.

The following cooperation projects have been successfully initiated and supported since the network environmental technology was founded:

• Development of flexible flood protection
• Universal environmental monitoring- and information system
• Air cleaner with coupled heat recovery
