The plastics industry is a high tech branch with future perspective as clearly demonstrated in the worldwide plastics consumption data - from 160,000 kt in 2000, to 300,000 kt in 2010 – An increase of 60 percent within 10 years! Upper Austria has reacted to this trend for a growing industry with the Plastics-Cluster, founded in 1999. The Plastics-Cluster concentrates on combining the energy of businesses in this sector and is an example of successful cluster policy with international acceptance and 417 partners*.
