Network Resource- and Energy Efficiency

The new Network Resources and Energy Efficiency was formed in May 2009 (until Feb. 2011 designated as Network Energy Efficiency). The aim of the network is to investigate the energy efficiency of industrial production. Therefore the focus lies in the active initiation and monitoring of projects related to the energy efficiency of industrial manufacturing processes.

The Network Energy Efficiency works closely togther with the Environmental Technology Cluster to use synergies.

The energy consumption in manufacturing increased in Austria by 30% since 1997. By contrast, the Austrian Energy Agency speaks of an economic saving potential of up 20 to 30%. The areas with the largest savings potentials are in the manufacturing engines and steam systems.

The network provides a platform for companies where these can quickly find opportunities for co-operation and support for their activities as well as benefit from synergies.
